About School Friends
The Friends of Ugborough Primary School work very hard on behalf of the school. Every parent and interested member of the community is welcome to attend meetings which normally take place in the evening at committee members homes about twice a term - the meetings are generally social events in themselves!!
If there is something you would enjoy getting involved in - come along and let us know. From making cakes to running a bar all levels of help are needed and new ideas always welcome!. We hold regular meeting in each others houses and everyone is welcome to come along. Details of meetings are available through the school office or contact Helen our Secretary.
Everyone is welcome to get involved however much time they have to give and we make our events fun for everyone both throughout the school and the community as a whole so do come along and find out more.

2009-2010
We already have a pretty full diary of events planned for this School Year. Starting with a School of Rock Band Night organised alongside the Ugborough And Bittaford Preschool in October, followed by a Scarecrow Trail leading up to the Pumpkin Party on 31st October. The Safari Supper is on 5th December - but will we have any more than the 39 couples who were involved last year? Christmas is busy with the Christmas Present Stall, School Discos and refreshments for the Carol Concert. and Father Christmas!
In the New Year we are planning another Band Night with the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Easter Tea. We are hoping to have a School Fair details to follow and possibly another event organised with Stowford PTA. There are also other school activities to be involved with - making refreshments for Sharing Assemblies, helping with Concerts etc. Come along to a meeting and find out more...
2008-2009
One of our main events for Summer 2009 was the National Festival Circus who performed at Filham Park in Ivybridge in May 2009. The Circus featured international performers including Clowns, Jugglers, Magicians, Balancing Acts and Acrobats. We are co-hosted the event with Stowford Primary School PTA and it was good to have the support of so many poeople with difefrent skills and expertise when putting on such a large event. In the end we raised over £700 per school but it was such a good experience we are hoping to co-host other events in the future. Watch this space...
Our other events in 2009 included the Safari Supper, Valentines Night in the Blitz (with resultant hangovers!), a Seed Project, a Band Night, Chocolate Bingo, the Easter Tea, helping out at Sports Day and other different school activities. We bought new digital cameras for each class and funded some laptops for the school as well as a new set of atlases.
